In the workplace, flammable items will undergo a risk assessment that will be carried out to see what risk there is and how it can be prevented. If it does catch fire, the action will be taken to put the fire out should it occur. Kitchens are a common source of fire since they contain heat, flames and hot oils.

Arson is a problem in some areas and this can cause a lot of damage and in some cases is very difficult to avoid. Other things that cause fires are fault electrical equipment, smoking, or portable heating equipment.  Prevention is better and more effective than a cure, so keep looking for possible hazards and address them before they become a problem.
